Restaurant setup checklist
The go-live checklist for a new restaurant: settings, menu, tables, QR codes, staff, payments, printers and the first test order.
Progress is saved on this device only.
How to use this checklist
Tick items as you finish them — progress is saved on this device in your browser, so use the same phone or computer until you go live. Work top to bottom: each step assumes the ones above it are done.
Note
You need the owner account for most of this. Settings and payment configuration are owner-only screens.
Order of operations (why this order)
- Business settings first — the GST rate and service charge apply to every bill from the moment orders start; fixing them later means fixing bills.
- Menu before QR — guests scan codes the second they are on the tables; an empty menu on launch day is the classic bad first impression.
- Tables before printing the QR sheet — every table gets a permanent QR token at creation; codes printed for deleted tables stop working.
- Staff before the test order — run the test as your cashier would, on their account, so permissions get exercised too.
- Test payment last — a settled test bill proves settings, menu, till and payment all agree.
After go-live
- Close every shift from Billing → Shift close-out — see Shift close-out.
- Watch stock deductions for the first week if you rely on inventory.
- Keep this page open — the troubleshooting hub is at Common problems.
