Razorpay setup (Settings → Payments)
Connect the restaurant's own Razorpay account: keys, test vs live mode, testing the connection, enabling payments.
What you need
- A Razorpay account belonging to the restaurant (money settles to the restaurant, never to RestoQR).
- Its Key ID and Key secret (Razorpay Dashboard → Settings → API Keys).
Connect it
- Admin console → Settings → Payments tab (owner only).
- Enter the Key ID (
rzp_test_…orrzp_live_…) and the Key secret. - Choose Mode: Test or Live. Start in Test, run a real end-to-end payment, then switch to Live.
- Press Save configuration — the card confirms "Razorpay credentials saved".
- Press Test connection — a successful check says "Razorpay connection verified".
- Press Enable payments when you are ready to accept online payments.
How keys are handled (safety)
- The secret is encrypted at rest and never returned to any screen — the field stays empty after saving; you only re-enter it when rotating.
- The card shows an honest status line: Connected and enabled / Configured but disabled / Not configured.
Careful
Never share the key secret over email, chat or a support ticket — RestoQR staff will never ask for it. A leaked secret must be regenerated in the Razorpay dashboard and re-saved here.
Verify
- Scan a table QR, place a small order, and pay it online from the phone.
- The guest page should flip to Paid, and the bill should show settled in Billing → To collect.
- Check the payment appears in your Razorpay dashboard with the same amount.
