Add an inventory item

Create stock items with a base unit, opening stock, reorder threshold and cost.

Create the item

  1. Admin console → Inventory → + Item.
  2. Name, Base unit (the unit the balance lives in).
  3. Opening stock — counted, physical stock right now. It is disabled on existing items on purpose: later changes go through Adjust so every move is ledgered.
  4. Low-stock threshold ("Reorder at") and cost per base unit.
  5. Optionally link a supplier and allow extra units with conversion factors.
  6. Save — "Inventory item saved"; the opening balance is posted to the ledger.

Items you sell as-is

Bottles, cans, packets you sell without cooking: pick a countable base unit (bottle/can/…) and set the direct-sale menu item — stock then deducts on sale without needing a recipe.
