Mark an item sold out (86 it)

Stop selling an item for the day — from the admin console or the till — and bring it back.

The one-tap version

  1. Admin console → Menu → find the item → 86 it.
  2. The item disappears from the guest QR menu immediately — guests mid-cart get "Some items just sold out — cart updated" and the item leaves their cart.
  3. When stock is back: Restore.

Note

Cashiers can 86 items too — the till and their role include sold-out control, so the floor never has to phone the office.

Auto 86 — inventory does it for you

If an item has recipe lines and any of its ingredients hits zero stock, the item flips to Auto 86 on its own and hides from guests. It comes back automatically when the ingredient is refilled. The menu shows a distinct amber Auto 86 badge so you know why it is off.

Verify

  • Scan one of your table QRs — the item should be gone from the guest menu.
  • The Menu page filter Sold out lists everything currently off, manual or auto.
